FastPass enables you access to a ride without having to line up or reserve a seat. This is a big deal because if you’re after the rides and attractions, especially the popular ones, you’re going to have a tough time waiting in line. If you didn’t prepare, you didn’t download FastPass, you didn’t explore any of Disneyland’s apps, and you just got to the park and explored its attractions in a fairly casual way, you have your work cut out for you. You really do. It’s going to be one heck of a ride.
In fact, this is one of the biggest disappointments about Disneyland. You probably would waste a lot of time waiting in line. Seriously. You spend more time in queue than you do in the ride or attraction that you lined up for. Even if you get to the park early, if you don’t have a plan of action or a strategy in place, you will be surprised at the end of the day how much time you have spent waiting for your turn. Though this may be true for any tourist attraction as famous as Disneyland, still, it’s never fun to be waiting in line for hours on end, no matter how great whatever it is that is there for us down in the end.
I am not saying this to discourage you, but I’m just giving you a cold, hard dose of truth because your failure to plan threatens to rob your trip of a lot of value considering that you paid hard-earned money for it. Wouldn’t it be awesome to be able to efficiently go from ride to ride by minimizing queue time?
The good news is, there is a solution – FastPass. The best part about this is that you just download it to your mobile device, whether it’s a phone or a tablet, it doesn’t matter. While you’re queued up for one ride, you can book your seat for the next ride. This way, you’re not wasting time in line doing nothing. Unfortunately, as more and more people use FastPass, there’s still a huge number of people who insist on doing things the old-school way. They refuse to benefit from this wonderful technology. Well, it’s their loss, really.
If you want to make sure that you’re trip to Disneyland is a lot of fun and you make full use of your time, FastPass is 100% necessary. That’s right. It’s essential. In fact, it is non-negotiable. If you can get out of what you have been accustomed to, then FastPass will surely make things a lot different and hugely convenient for you and your entire family.
This is also true when you are reserving a seat at a show. There are many awesome shows in Disneyland, and the best, arguably is The Lion King. A lot of people can’t get enough of Lion King. The problem is, if you don’t know how to use a FastPass, you end up spending a lot of time in line when you didn’t have to with a FastPass.
So, do yourself a big favor, download, install, and activate FastPass. Also, study the many ways that it can help you, so you don’t miss out on anything. Again, just to reiterate, it can help gain you access to rides as well as shows.
The great thing about this system is that it’s stored digitally. There’s no printed paper or tickets. Isn’t that awesome? If enough people adopted the system, a lot of trees will be spared. Also, there is no danger of losing our “electronic” tickets. The Disneyland FastPass has it in their system but having it in your device ready to be presented will help speed up the process since your information is already there.
Another important things also is that you know how to get the application and navigate your way around it. Basically, you just download the Disney app from Android or from the Apple Store. Once it’s installed, every person that is in your group must have a FastPass installed.
It’s important to keep in mind that the FastPass system is activated the moment you get to the park. If a FastPass account is under your name, only you can reserve shows and rides. Nobody else. So, you must be physically present with your group and organized. You can’t have the person who oversees the FastPass in a bathroom or somewhere at a faraway restaurant, and people cannot get ahold of her. That’s spells disaster. People in your group are not going to be happy when you’re missing in action.
It’s also important that the person in charge of the FastPass is the coordinator of your group. If you’re a traveling family of four or five, or a big family or group of relatives, this won’t be a problem. Family groups are easier to manage. However, if you’re traveling in a large group, maybe a church group or a community group or extended family reunion type group, this can be a hassle. So, keep in mind to assign an overall person in charge for your trip and make sure people know who he or she is so that they can follow her instructions.
Also, one person cannot have two FastPasses at once. It’s just one FastPass per person. However large your group is, one FastPass will suffice if you have one person in charge.
Another great thing about the FastPass is that applies not only to Disneyland but also to Disney California Adventure, which is a separate theme park. So, do yourself a big favor, get on top of things by learning about FastPass, taking full advantage of it and maximizing the value of your time while you are in Disneyland. It makes for a wonderful vacation and an amazing Disneyland experience.
