If you’d like to devote one day to visit a specific area in Anaheim, it’s very easy to think that it’s going to be Disneyland.

Nobody can really blame you for thinking this way because Disneyland pretty much dominates the local attraction landscape as far as Anaheim, California is concerned.

However, keep in mind that there’s a lot more going on in Southern California City than the house that Mickey Mouse built.

If you have an itinerary, let’s say you’re going to be in town for ten days, keep your eyes on the following list. Different people have their own preferences so feel free to tweak or modify this list to fit your interests.

However, this list is a good place to start because it’s a summary of all the great things that this part of California has to offer.

Disneyland

First thing that you need to do is, of course, to visit the mother of all attractions in Anaheim– Disneyland.

Take note that many people from all parts of the United States spend three to four days in Anaheim, and all that time is spent in Disneyland. You may be thinking that’s crazy.

But if you look at Disneyland, and how big it is, one day is simply not going to cut it. Seriously, even with two days, you’re basically pushing it.

Depending on how strategic and methodical you are in checking out all the attractions and rides Disneyland has to offer, you can easily run out of time.

You can come in all excited so, you just check out all the toys and memorabilia. Before you know it, you’ve spent half the day at those shops.

You’re out several hundred dollars, and you still haven’t seen the rides and attractions that drew you to Disneyland in the first place. You don’t want to put yourself in that position.

So, give yourself enough time to check out Disneyland. Maybe you should have a short list of all the attractions that you need to check out and focus your time there.

Once you get that out of the way, you can then check out the rest of the park.

Anaheim Packing District

Another great place to check out in Anaheim is the Farmer’s Market and the Packing District. There are lots of quaint little shops, and you get a distinct feel of the local history, sights and sounds of Anaheim.

Anaheim is not Disneyland. They’re not interchangeable.

Anaheim has a personality of its own, and it has its own distinct history in this part of Orange County.

So, when you go to the Anaheim Packing District landmarks, and check out the Farmer’s Park, you get a front-seat view of that local history.

The House of Blues

If you’re a big fan of different types of music, the House of Blues has you covered. Whether you’re into classical blues or rock and roll, the House of Blues has lots of great acts.

Check the schedule of the House of Blues in Anaheim so you can catch an act that features a genre of music you’re interested in.

Knott’s Berry Farm

A lot of people are under the impression that if you’ve been to Disneyland, there’s really no need to go to another theme park.

Well, Disneyland is great because almost all the attractions and rides features Disney movies, characters and themes. They are also geared primarily towards kids.

What if you have a mixed group? What if you have teenagers, and not just little children?

Knott’s Berry Farm will take care of all your theme park cravings, and more.

It has developed quite a bit of reputation in the local tourism industry for delivering the kind of rides and theme park experience that stand in great contrast to Disneyland.

It’s a great way for teenagers and adults to enjoy themselves in one theme park.

Adventure City Theme Park

If you’re taking the kids with you on your trip, Adventure City theme park is the place to go.

It has a lot of attractions, and a great way to spend time with the kids without having to worry about kid-friendly accommodations.

Angel Stadium

If you want to watch a game of America’s classic pastime, which is baseball, what better way to do it than to go to Angel Stadium in Anaheim?

This is a local institution. The LA Angels baseball team are local heroes. So, you might want to see them in action.

If anything, this is a great place to take a lot of pictures and post them on Instagram.

Make no mistake. It’s one thing to take pictures of you hanging out with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Goofy in Disneyland.

But it’s another thing entirely to take a picture of you right in front of the baseball diamond at Angel Stadium. Why?

Everybody takes pictures of Mickey Mouse. There’s nothing new there. But fewer people take pictures of Angel Stadium.

If anything, this shows all your friends and family on Facebook that you’ve gone to Anaheim, and you’ve explored a lot more of what the city has to offer than just Mickey Mouse.

Bottle-Logic Brewing Bars and Clubs

If you’re a big fan of home brew, local brew or craft beer, you might want to check the brewing bars in Anaheim.

This is a recent phenomenon, and it’s definitely a great addition to your itinerary because if you have any taste for alcohol whatsoever, this is a great option.
